Coronavirus, also known as Covid-19. Was first identified in Wuhan, china in December 2019. it is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).

And according to the latest report from the World Health Organization (WHO), dated May 18th 2020. The situation in numbers is as follow:

In Africa the virus affected 61.163 cases and caused 1.748 deaths. In Americas it affected 2.017.811 cases and caused 121.609 deaths. In eastern Mediterranean it resulted in 338.560 cases and caused 9.979 deaths. In Europe the numbers are 1.890.467 cases and 167.173 deaths. In South-East Asia it caused 141.593 cases and 4.582 deaths. And in Western Pacific 168.515 cases and 6743 deaths.

Which brings us to the global numbers, 4.618.821 cases and 311.847 deaths.

Its common symptoms are known to be Fever by 83–99% of the cases, loss of appetite by 40–84%, as well as fatigue by 44–70%, Loss of smell by 15–30%, Shortness of breath by 31–40%, Cough by 59–82%, Coughing up sputum by 28–33%, Muscle aches and pain by 11–35%, as well as diarrhea, Chronic headache, runny or itchy nose.

In the other hand, in case of the sever side of the disease there is, Difficulty waking confusion, Bluish face or lips, Coughing up blood, persistent chest pain, decreased white blood cells, kidney failure and high fever.

Which brings us to also talk about Histamine. Which is an organic nitrogenous compound involved in local immune responses, as well as regulation physiological function in the gut and acting as a neurotransmitter for the brain, spinal cord, and uterus. It is also involved in the inflammatory response, and it also has a central role as a mediator of itching. which can lead us to say that Covid-19 symptoms are caused somehow by a substance that can lead to allergy or pseudo allergy, which is in this case Histamine.

Symptoms of Histamine can be various and we can find that it causes diarrhea, Chronic headache, congested, runny, or itchy nose, shortness of breath, stomach cramps or pain, Flushing especially of the head and chest. Which brings us to question this similarity in symptoms.

In the case of Covid-19. And according to Worldometers.com, 2.258.609 cases had an outcome. with 1.936.611 cases recovered (86%), and 321.998 deaths (14%). and it is also known that some of the cases that were recovered had as treatments the following substances: Chloroquine, Azithromycin, Tetracycline, Zinc, Vitamin C... , And some others that were treated using Traditional medicine, that is based on various kinds of plants and substances, such as Lemon, Clove, and many other natural substances that appear to have also an effect on Histamine. Not to forget the cases that were recovered with no use of medicines and that had few symptoms.

And knowing that Histamine is found in all mammalian tissues, the richest being the lung, liver and skin. It also appears that Histamine substance can be consumed in various nutrition products such as canned food, Champagne, wine, beer, Mature cheese, Yeast extract and many other products.

And if we take a look at the numbers presented earlier, but from an other perspective, where we find the most severe cases of Covid-19 are in regions where food with a high level of Histamine is consumed.

And finally, it appears to me personally that maybe if the Histamine substance causes the same symptoms as Covid-19, then there is a slight chance that Histamine blocks the antibodies from doing their essential function which is protecting the body from external viruses. but it can’t do that due to something preventing it from doing so.

After doing some research and coming up with this information and this link between Covid-19 and Histamine, why not to sum up with an open question.

If there is a chance that Histamine leads to a severe case of Covid-19, why not use antihistamine substances to reduce the level of Histamine in the body?
